Camp Katur Wedding Weekend

Free-Spirited Fun For A Camp Katur Wedding Weekend!

Question for you: have you thought about turning your day into a wedding weekend? If not, then let me introduce you to Ursula and Alan, whose laid-back weekend wedding at Camp Katur prioritised fun and connection, and was absolutely gorgeous to boot.

"Your Day, Your Way”

Ursula and Alan’s wedding was the definition of ‘your day, your way’, and I absolutely loved being a part of it. From Friday night through to Sunday lunchtime, the couple created a series of amazing opportunities for fun, feasting and celebrating with their favourite humans on the planet. They filled their wedding weekend with the things and people they loved, and did away with any formal traditions that didn’t hold particular meaning for them. Ursula and Alan, I applaud you!

The Perfect Venue…

Camp Katur provided the most perfect setting for a relaxed, free-spirited wedding with bags of personality and style. The heart of the wedding happened in and around a huge meadow, which felt full of love and laughter as it was where guests stayed overnight, as well as being the site of the party time yurt. After settling in to their tents, cabins and geodomes, guests enjoyed a barbecue and prepared for their first night under the stars.

Everything about this venue invited a spirit of gentle wildness. There’s nothing stuffy about the set up here, and it’s clear that Ursula and Alan embraced the flexibility and freedom to celebrate in their own way. Glamping for all? Check. Bonfire and barbecue? Check. Mexican street food trucks? Check. Full. On. Fun. Run? Check!

Rambling Wildflowers

When it came to the flowers for this amazing wedding, gentle wildness was the name of the game here too. The ceremony happened in the woods, with a beautiful wooden arbour that was crying out for sculptural tendrils of greenery, candles and rambling wildflowers. A delicate palette of white, pale blue and purple were starred throughout and echoed in Ursula’s bouquet. This coupled with the lanterns hanging between the trees and the cellist playing Edelweiss as Ursula walked down the aisle made the whole space feel enchanted.

“Bring the forest indoors”

The wedding meal and party was held in a yurt in the meadow, and the couple’s brief to me was ‘bringing the forest indoors’ – cue much grinning and air punching from me! I focused on big swathes of lush greenery and used the whole height of the yurt to make it feel really immersive. This took a lot of ladder climbing, but the finished look was green and gorgeous and spangled with twinkling lights. One fragrant enchanted forest at your service!

A Weekend To Remember!

I love wedding weekends like this one because they allow so many chances to make things really personal, and to connect and spend time with those you love. Spreading out the celebrating across multiple days means a wedding that’s at once more spectacular and more chilled out. Now that’s a combo I can really get on board with!

If you’re planning a celebration shot through with wildness and want free-spirited flowers to match, then why not send me a message? I’d love to chat all things floral with you.
